Planet B-boy the Movie.

Hah! away from the usual Jay stuffs for now. Well any of you heard of the term bboy? or better known as breakdancing. Bboying is not all about doing handstands, freeze, air-chair, windmills, etc, it's not hiphop nor is it some violent sport. But rather, it's the attitude, the mind, the culture of expressing oneself through body language.

B-boying came from Bronx, NY. The term "B-boy" or "B-boying" was created by Kool Herc who was a DJ spinning at block parties in Bronx back in the days. B-Boys means break boys and they were called so because they dance to the break part of music.

Seriously, countries like Singapore really gets too little exposure from the foreign cultures. It's a small country, and people generally looked over it, so much so that we're limited to what we can do or see through the internet. Singapore is all about IT, technologies, education hubs, blah blah blah lah. But never much about creativity, dance, hip hop cultures until recent years.

Anyway here's an upcoming movie that i wanna share, and i would really really really wanna watch! But too bad, it will not be release in Singapore. It's all about the Bboy culture, how it came about and what it really is. For people that have interests in these area of dance, you'll sure to love this short movie trailer.




Real dope i would say for someone to come up with a documented movie like this. Anyway sorry if this doesn't fit any of the categories here, i would label it as rants. lol.

At first, Jay decided to let his Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR722 Edition to be first shown in his new song Mv, but once he got his car, he could resist his temptation to drive it on the road. It is said that he got his Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR722 Edition in the start of May and after that he kept driving it on the road. The car with a different door attracted a lot of attention. Being careful in everything, Jay's new car was only discovered yesterday.

Hello from Vivien Chou

Hello. I'm glad that I'm invited to join the Jay Chou blog. I would cry to myself if I'm cornered in the world of Jay Chou. And in this post, my intro post, I'm gonna rant about my love to Jay Chou.

The ever first song of Jay's Ive heard is most probably Xing Qing on the radio. I left no special impression on that song, honestly. I had a bigger fetish on Tension during that time. I paid no special attention to him until I saw Jay playing the piano on my TV screen. From that moment I started to pay a little more attention to this newcomer in the enterntaiment industry.

When he came out with the second album, Fantasy, I had no idea till one day when my cousin played his songs from her computer. Then I remember she said, "Eh, he has nice songs. I like this album. All the songs but except for the last song." And that was proven because she ripped the whole album she borrowed from her friend but not the last song which is An Jing. I asked her why and she told me it is a boring song. I doubt her and I played that song. I like it and I bought the very first album of my Jay Chou collection the next day.

And I totally love Kai Bu Liao Kou. I just wondered why most of the girls in his music videos are caucasians.



I cant remember how long later, when I was walking on the street of Bukit Bintang, a girl passed me a flyer. I took and I saw Jay on it with captions stating about his first concert in Malaysia. The Fantasy Concert. Back at that time, his concert tickets worthed only rm60-rm180. Hahaha. And I was only 14 back then. I asked my mum whether could I go with the money I was about to get during CNY. She said no. Because she did not want to go with me neither I can attend the concert alone. I wasnt fanatic enough to persuade my mum and so I failed. I did not attend his first concert in Malaysia :(



From then onwards, I told myself that I must save up money for his next albums and concerts. And knowing that I cant go to his concert, I began to go "crazy" about him. I started to cut and paste his news on magazine and newspaper to my Jay Chou fan book. Every piece of news I see I would cut and paste. And all these stopped when he became more and more famous. I was too lazy for it already. Haha. And then I joined online forums like Jay-Chou.net and many more.

With the promise I made to myself, indeed, starting from Fantasy, I bought all his original albums including Concert dvds, special version of albums, OST, movie DVDs and EPs. I also bought his first album to complete my Jay Chou collection. I even attended my very first Jay Chou concert in Singapore, The One concert with my cousin. I went all the way to Singapore just for him. I even skipped school for a day. That concert was a blast. I can still remember a few special moment from it. But most of the time I viewed Jay from the projector because I cannot afford the better seats as I had to pay for my transportation to Singapor.



Skip skip skip to the second concert I attended back on year 2005. It was the Imcomparable concert. I attended it with my BFFs and my BF. At that time, I can only afford the RM150 tickets, where we we seated in the middle of the field of Stadium Merdeka. We could hardly see anything clear on the stage. Sigh.

I was also given the title Jay-Fanatic back in high school. I was the well known Jay Chou's fan in high school. I am feeling proud because the title continued till my college stage. Hahaha. This is most probably because I love to mention about him no matter what topic or whatever the rest are talking about.



Besides attending his concerts, I also did attend his various promo tours and also the only autograph session he had in KL. I remember it was on the 23rd November 2005 when I was having my Add Math SPM paper. I was being bad, I left the exam hall once it reached the 30th minute and headed all the way to 1U. It was around 2pm when I started queuing up for a 7pm event. But well, Jay appeared only when the clock strikes 8. And being an early bird, I was one of the first 20 to go up the stage. Muahahahahahahaha. I had star stroke by the way and that explains why I was speechless when I see Jay straight in my face. He said "XIE XIE" to me and I can never forget about it. I also skipped school for a day to attend his Initial D promo. Hahaha.



Fast forwarding to his birthday early this year, I actually travelled to Singapore again because he had his birthday concert in Singapore. And also a supposed-to-be fans meeting session during his birthday. But hell, it was canceled and I failed to get the tickets for his concert :( And that's when I decided to get the best in KL. I worked like a cow to get the best ticket I could during his World Tour concert early this year. I spent rm800 just to forget about looking at the projector for Jay. And Yay! I've got the 3rd row from the stage, from Jay! It was so cool. It was worth it. I no longer need to stare at the projector but I could see Jay and snapped him just like that. And only on that 2 hours of concert, I took 300+ pictures of Jay Chou including some funny ones like below.







Watching him playing the piano can really make me melt. And I also took a picture with Jay during that concert. I'm serious!!!!!!! LOOK!

After the concert, I went to Taiwan. Wow. For another time I felt so close to Jay Chou. Hehehehe. I did all my research about his boutique and restaurant there because I want to go there like mad and I did. I went to his Phantaci. And I missed his Mr.J Italian Restaurant :(





No. Too bad I dint bump into Jay there :( But I bought one less costy item that can be found in his shop. I bought a Phantaci cap. Hehehehe. I must go to his restaurant in Taiwan and grab the Secret's merchandise there! I must I must! And oh, I watched Secret twice on the way to and back from Taiwan on the airplane. And that sums up to 8 times of watching and crying after the movie. Muahahahahaaha.

Oh well, I think I'm ranting too much already as this is only the intro post to this lovely Jay Chou blog. I'll be back blogging about him soon! Cioaz! :) Anyway you can read my review about Jay Chou World Tour 2008 Malaysia just by clicking here, here and here!

昨晚20：30分“周杰伦重庆慈善募捐演唱会”在奥体中心如期举行。跟以往的演唱会不同的是，本次演唱会洋溢着对四川灾区人民的一片深情，周杰伦也因为爱心而更加光芒四射。
24may08, 8pm, Jay's charity concert at Chongqing was held. The difference in this concert from others is that this concert shows the care and concern for people who suffered in the Sze Chuan earthquake. Because of love, Jay also looked more radiant. (isit? can help me edit if i am wrong?)



一曲《黄金甲》拉开了“周杰伦重庆慈善募捐演唱会”的序幕，三万多重庆市民齐聚奥体中心助阵这场募捐演唱会，为灾区人民加油打气。
After Huang jing jia was sang to start off the concert, 30000 Chong qing people gathered at the venue to participate in the concert, and helped to cheer for the people who suffered in the earthquake.



连唱几首歌之后，周杰伦静静地站在了舞台中央，动情地说到：“这场演唱会跟以前不一样，我会很卖力去唱，用歌声去表达我的爱，每个人都很有爱心，都有自己表达的方式，我选择了用音乐去表达，”随后振臂高喊：“四川，加油！”周杰伦的这一举动得到了全场歌迷的热烈回应，“四川，加油！”的鼓励话语响彻重庆上空。 　
After continuing singing many songs, Jay stood quietly in the centre of the stage and he said " This concert is different from others, I will do my best in singing, i will use my singing to express my love, everybody has love and has his/her own way of expressing it. I choose to use my voice to express." Then he shouted " Sze Chuan Jia you!!" What Jay did was responded by his fans' reply " Szechuan, jiayou!!"



因为四川遭受特大地震灾害，情绪一直很低落的杰伦特意在演唱会的曲目中加入了励志歌曲，随着《蜗牛》的旋律响起，在周杰伦亲自弹奏下，“我要一步步往上爬……小小的天有大大的梦想，重重的壳挂着轻轻的仰望，任风吹干流过的泪和汗，总有一天我有属于我的天……”重庆的30名小朋友戴着红领巾用稚嫩、单纯的童音唱出了对灾区小朋友的鼓励与祝福。
Because of the earthquake in Szechuan, Jay's mood was always very loq and he purposely added songs that are encouraging into the concert. While Jay played 'Snail' on the piano, 30 children used their innocent children's voice and sang out their encouragement and wishes to the people who suffered in the earthquake.



在演唱会中，工作人员还读了一封来自灾区一位被截肢的小朋友写给杰伦的信，小朋友在信中表示，自己非常喜欢听杰伦的歌，感谢周杰伦来到重庆开这场慈善演唱会，他会更加坚强。
In the concert, someone read a letter for Jay, wrote by a small kid. In the letter, the small kid said that he like to listen to Jay's music a lot and he thank Jay for going to Chong Qing to hold the charity concert and he said that he would be more strong.

３天２夜的時間，他沒法探視災民，不過收到因地震截肢女歌迷來信，讓他莫名感動，並請彈頭念出內容，藉此激勵所有人，周杰倫表示，因內容太過感動，他沒法自己念，所以請彈頭代勞。
In 3 days 2 nights, Jay did not have chance to visit the people who suffered in the earthquake but he recieved a letter from a girl fan which caused him to be very moced. He requested Dantou to read the letter for him. Jay expressed that the content is too moving that he could not read it himself therefore he requested Dantou to read it for him.



昨日的演唱会，杰伦请来了苏芮、周蕙、刘耕宏和南拳妈妈担任演唱嘉宾。每位嘉宾都表情凝重，地震灾害牵动着每一位到场艺人的心。演唱会主办方联合重庆市慈善总会在5个入口各设了2个捐款箱，观众在入场前都可以在捐款箱前为灾区人民献出一份爱心，每个捐款的观众便会得到一个有着杰伦签名的特制“爱心贴”，记者在现场看到，不少入场的观众都会在捐款箱前停下脚步，慎重地投入自己的一份心意，那一枚枚火红的“爱心贴”随处可见，形成了演唱会独有的靓丽风景。
Jay invited Su Rui, Zhou Hui, Will Liu and NQMM to be the guest performers. Every of them looked very serious, this earthquake has affected every celebrities's hearts. There was 2 donation box placed at each of the 5 entrances. The people could donate before they entered the venue to express their love. Every people who donated could get something that is qutographed by Jay. Reporters saw that a lot of people donated before they entered the venue.

Hello from Eddy

First of all thanks to Jaz for adding me to this blog. Although i joined like last week, haven't got the time to intro myself. Was lost somewhere on my bed dreaming :) . Anyway HI everyone, My name is Eddy and i am from Malaysia, living in KL somewhere in Ampang. Currently i am studying at British Malaysian Institute (BMI) at Gombak. Its good to meet u guys n gals in this blog =)

For me i first listen to Jay Chou's Music when i was in my Foundation Studies back in 2002. The song that make me want to listen more to his songs is "Jian Dan Ai - Simple Love". Its kinda unique to me. I still remeber my roommate both practice to sing the song "Ren Zhe - Ninja". They said although they are fluent in Mandarin, they don't understand what hes trying to sing. hehe. Then album after album i keep following. For me i understand n can speak Cantonese but i cant read or speak or understand mandarin so understanding his songs is kinda hard till i found this website called http://www.jay-chou.net/ . This website has han yu pin yin. And every line they will have a direct translation to English. Thats really cool. From then on i actually understand what his songs means. I think this is the best way to learn Mandarin bit by bit.

One thing i like about Jay's music is that its very creatively written and have a real true meaning bout human feeling's n heart. If you have experience love before then his songs really means alot to you :p couple it with his voice, it makes an awesome masterpiece =) . I think out in the market there no one can match Jay's voice. Its just unique.

Jay Chou's Chongqing concert ends, manages to raise 30 million yuan

Yesterday night "Jay Chou's charity concert in Chongqing" was held at the Olympics Centre in Chongqing.

Before the opening, after donating 500,000 earlier Jay Chou donated another 1 million yuan to the earthquake disaster area.

On the night entrepreneurs, fans and people from all walks of life gave to charity, at the venue they raised over 29 million yuan, all of it will go to the Chongqing Charity Federation to help rebuild the disaster area.

Jay Chou arrived in Chongqing on the 23rd of May to prepare for his concert, he announced the concert had been changed to a charity performance, the commercial events and celebration party after the concert were all cancelled.

Yesterday night at Jay Chou's concert, Julie Su and Zhou Hui both participated in performing. Julie Su sang "Hold Hands", "Dear Baby", the lyrics affected everyone's feelings, the 40,000 people offstage all sang together.

Zhou Hui on the other hand sang "Promise" and "Don't Cry" to comfort everyone, original guest performers Nan Quan Mama also changed songs and performed "Not Far From Home".
